In an effort to support the GSF mission to promote improvements in student achievement and teaching excellence, we support student academics during the summer. Our Summer Boot Camps have proved popular and helpful for incoming 7th graders to science at Bell Middle School and to incoming freshmen about to take Advanced Placement (AP) classes at Golden High School.
Summer Science Boot Camp
Launched August 2015 for students entering 7th grade at Bell Middle School!
Dates: August 2017 | 8am-12pm
Location: Bell Middle School
The Summer Science Boot Camp is a four-day comprehensive academic enhancement program focuses on communicating the joy and excitement of learning science through a problem-based approach. Students experience a unique opportunity to gain confidence in their own ability to work as “scientists and mathematicians” in a classroom setting.
The staff is comprised of Bell Science teachers and community volunteers from a variety of local technical companies. This unique program and the highly skilled instructors will create innovative learning experiences through a broad range of concepts. Students are invited to explore and learn in a classroom setting that combines both “real world” or “hands on” experiences! The goal is to increase participating student’s interest and enjoyment of science before the school year begins.
Advanced Placement Boot Camp
Our first AP Boot Camp happened in August 2016. Read more about it here. It received high marks from students and teachers and we look forward to offering it again in 2017.
More information on the 2017 Boot Camps is COMING SOON.
